Healthy eyes start with healthy living.  Here are some factors we should all take to heart:

Eat properly: Some of the best foods that provide eye vitamins include the brightly coloured fruits and vegetables.

Exercise:  Get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week.

Get enough sleep:  Healthy adults need between 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night to function at their best.

Protect your eyes from UV and Blue light:  Wear your sunglasses to protect your eyes outside and look at getting a blue light filter on your glasses if you are on digital devices more than 4 hours a day.

Protect the cornea if you have Dry Eye Disease:  Use artificial tears routinely, take omega 3 and drink plenty of water.

Take supplements as required:  The top eye vitamins are lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, vitamin A and omega-3.

Regular vision examinations:  Come in and see Dr. Penny or Cornelson as recommended every 1 or 2 years.
