Myopia; why is it an issue?
Myopia or nearsightedness is a condition where light is focused in front of the retina. This leads to blurred distance vision. It is estimated that 30% of Canadians are nearsighted, […]
A key difference in Mayfair Eye Care’s Vision Therapy programs is the one-to-one and personalized care. This means patients benefit from a customized program for their specific visual needs and lifestyle, which in turn results in faster improvements.
We believe that patients deserve to have personalized programs. This principle helps us to keep the costs in line, which in turn means patients don’t have to pay for sessions that are not required. Everyone responds differently to vision therapy and should have the pace tailored to them.
Other clinics offer weekly therapy sessions of vision therapy. This routine and non-customized pace means that patients will spend more time and money on areas they don’t necessarily need to be working on.
Our fees are paid at the time of your session, and generally not in advance. To allow us to provide this option, we do charge for missed sessions.
People sometimes ask our clinic if the therapy is the same as the more costly options because we all know that the more you pay, the better it is, right?! False. We have the latest equipment and because of our team’s depth of experience in helping over 10,000 people, we can leverage our experience to help each of our patients see positive progress quickly.
The reason you don’t have to come to our clinic every week, is because we are reasonable and understand that:
Your eyes and brain need time to adjust to the new skills you will learn
People are busy and it takes time and effort to come every week instead of every few weeks
Less visits = less cost for you
We believe everyone deserves a custom-tailored plan, suited to the areas you need to focus on.
Some of the better health insurance policies cover the medically-necessary aspect of Vision Therapy. Insurance companies do require some very particular vision codes so please ask your optometrist or vision therapist to complete the necessary insurance information package for you.
Vision Therapy assessment and appointment fees are deductible from your income tax. To find out how, please call the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) at 1-800-959-2221 or view the web here.
